Mausam - Bad Weather

Movie Review - Mausam
One line feedback - Avoid

If you still would want to watch this movie, then this should be one of the reasons-
  1. You  like to watch good photography.
  2. You like to participate in KBC and want to know  chronologically, the events which have happened over the past decade for the fastest finger first(Operation Blue star, Babri Masjid, Kargil War, 9/11,Gujrat Riots).
  3. You want to believe that bad luck does exist and one family can effected with all the major bad events which have occurred the whole decade across the world.(As mentioned above)
  4. You have a special interest in locks  which are built across the worlds.
  5. You like to know and/or get nostalgic about the old telephone system and see they would get dialled and the listen to the good old ring tones.
  6. You want to see how to get a kick from riding a bicycle, and a good inspiration to start cycling again. Environment friendly reason off course.
Probably Pankaj Kapur wanted to create a serial of all the major events (man made disasters) and ended up putting everything into a movie and wanted to be displayed on a big screen.

Some other analysis which we managed to do during the course of watching this fast paced movie.

  • When Shahid went to throw a bomb on Tiger hill during the Kargil war, did he keep in mind that Hrithik was also on the same assignment but poor fellow was climbing all the way up. Didn't he think what would have happened to him ? There seems to be lack of logistics, and bad communication.
  • Shahid , (at the end of the movie) standing at the door or a train bogey, aka suicide scene in Jab We Met, he was holding the support with his one hand (while the other one is paralysed), and his ex-flame offers him tea. Was it a trick that she was playing as he could have lost balance and neither was kareena present there to save him...
Now if you can understand , what this movie can do to a sane person like me, you can decide pretty well where to spend your money for entertainment.

Movie Review : 2012

This movie for me was not just a movie. After having read various theories behind this event slated for 21st Dec 2012, it was a nice depiction as to how it will actually happen. And from my point of view, it was a very realistic view of what I had actually imagined, and seeing it with my own eyes, though in a picture, was quite frightening.

Its not just a movie, its something what you have thought about and its about the end of the world. Its something, which one is not sure at the same time, one is again not sure that it will happen. We are living here on this planet earth and planning for the future as if we are going for live till the age of 60-70. And if we go by this theory, we dont need to plan , we just need to live to next 2 years. So its a constant conflict in the mind as to what extent you can trust this theory and what will really happen to you per se.

As for the movie, it revolves around the same old White House and the President of USA, something close to what Independence Day was, with an amalgamation of Titanic. But in all a good depiction as to what will be the actual things which will happen. Wonderful special effects, WOW is not enough.
The movie starts from India, where an Indian figures out that the temperture of the core of the earth is imcreasing at a rapid pace, and he tells his friend from USA who is working in the Geological Dept of the Government.
Then it moves on to show how they plan to build a huge ship a.k.a the in the Bible, which takes every animal on the planet so that the specie is not destroyed. Also shown is how much of commercialisation is done and how are the tickets to your life are sold.
But at the end its very clearly shown that, only the ones who have done good deeds will be saved and thats the true essence of the movie. Its again the joining of the dots, as to how even the so called bad people will assist the good people unknowningly for their own benefit.
China is clearly shown as the work force of the world and any given task can be assigned to them to be completed in a given time. At the same time, Indian is someone who discovers it first, but doesnt even manage to save himself, thinks more of others and helping others, again so true of the Indian culture.

Its indeed a great movie. I simply loved it.

Movie Review : Fashion

Movie: Fashion

Another movie of Madhur Bhandarkar. Just like one can make out the books of 'Chetan Bhagat' similarly you can easily make out that the movie is of Madhur Bhandarkar.
For someone who has seen the movie Page 3 its not much of a different scene. Typically the same issue but this movie is concentrated on one aspect ie Fashion. The rest remains the same.

Something about the movie. The story is about a girl from Chandigarh who wants to become a super model, and its her dream. Though her parents don't approve of her dreams she is persistent about it.
The movie further dwells into the dark realities of the fashion industry, the page 3 people and finally the Priyanka Chopra makes it big. She is helped by many on her way up, but when she reached the top, then things begin to fall apart and goes so bad that she goes back to her family. The family then boosts her up and ask her to take a second stint.
Thats when she realises her faults then the movie revolves over how she copes up with everything and makes it big.
The movie shows the ugly truths of the fashion industry. How people are used and also how the law of karma works. Its also about fulfilling your dreams if you are serious about it.
Worth a watch!!

Page 3 !

On this friday night ,as I was surfing the channels I came across this movie ,Page 3. Had seen this movie long time ago. I must agree that this is one of the best movies and real connectivity to reel and real life. This is story of a journalist who writes Page 3 articles. And looking at the whole life of everyone it just seems so artificial. Every article written in newspaper is all planned. Its not really news.. Its more of what you want and whats the price you are ready to pay. And every thing is like a pre planned drama..

Relations are not really relations. They are just stepping stones to your temporary happiness or success. The song which is played through out the movie is simply awesome..
"Kitne ajeeb rishte hain yahan pe.. do pal milte hain, saath saath chalte hain.. jab mod aaye to bach ke nikal te hain" and this is so true in everyone's life.

Only when someone needs others they remember.. else make use of them and move on. In the movie even the ACP is not bothered of the bomb blast thats happened in the city that day and he is busy enjoying in the party...

The news, the stories in the media today, is controlled by a set of few people. They are the people who control everything. Its a simple gamble. They are the movers and shakers of the world. They have the money. If they do illegaal things, they get hold of the political and the big officers. The news papers will not publish such articles as that will impact their ad money flow..

In short, its the rich and the famous who rule everything.. Its the 0.1 % of the people who control the remaining 99.9% of the remaining ..Isnt that news for you now..

They make the rules, they are the ones who have the big lobbies due to which the govt decides its policies and the financials of the country or a region..
If USA invades Iraq, its not that Bush wants it.. its the companies that back him want it and he has no other choice.. its as simple as that..

Media in all respects has always been the strength ... but not anymore.. its right now sold out in the hands of a few rich people. IIPM issue was the same again.. No paper went against it .. why ???
They would lose the full page ads they would eventually get..

I have seen and met people in this media industry. You take them to a 5 star restaurant , give a wonderful dinner/lunch and hand over the article you want to be printed.. well thats how it works..
If you are a politician, you call for a press meeting, pay the reporters to ask the whatever questions you want them to ask and answer them accordingly..

Looking at these people , the people in the media, get so used to this that they do the same in their personal life also. Using people rather than builing relationships. Short term benefits out number the long term bondings.. Using others as doormats to their path of so called success.. How long will that work .. all these only have an expiry date...

At the end of this , where are we leading to ??
