Akshardham Temple New Delhi.

After 5 years of non-stop, round-the-clock construction, the massive and awesome Akshardham Temple Monument to World Peace was inaugurated. The Akshardham Temple in New Delhi, India, constructed by the BAPS foundation -- the builders of the various Swaminaryan Temples across the world, is truely a modern day Wonder of the World. It is one of the biggest and most intricate religious places of worship ever constructed. Combining several completely different and contrasting architectural styles of Hindu temple architecture of northern India -- Rajasthani, Orrisan, Gujarati, Mughal and Jain -- the Akshardham Monument is entirely constructed of marble and the red-sandstone that Delhi is famous for, and that so many of monuments are constructed of. It was completed in only 5 years a world record of sorts At its inaguration, it is widely being heralded as one of the greatest monuments India has ever produced.
-----------==---=---==-----------
Monument of Akshardham The Akshardham monument, built without steel, is entirely composed of sandstone and marble. It consists of 234 ornately carved pillars, 9 ornate domes, 20 quadrangled shikhars, a spectacular Gajendra Pith (plinth of stone elephants) and 20,000 murtis and statues of India's great sadhus, devotees, acharyas and divine personalities. The monument is a fusion of several architectural styles of pink stone and pure white marble. Pink stone symbolizes bhakti (devotion) in eternal bloom and white marble of absolute purity and eternal peace. The monument was built after over 300 million man hours of services rendered by 11,000 volunteers, sadhus and artisans. It is the one of the wonders of the modern world, and the wonders of modern India.

Check some pictures of the same. I have got these pictures as a forward.

Does GOD exist?

A nice forwarded email.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Does the GOD exist? YES ………………………….. ! NO…………………………….! Do not argue friends, just go thr’ the following para….A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.Barber began to work; they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.

When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists."Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn'tExist.

Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.

I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbers shop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair & an un trimmed beard.

He looked dirty and unkempt.
The customer turned back and entered the barbershop again and he said to the barber:"You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.

"I am here, and I am a barber.

And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed.
"Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards like that man outside."
"Ah, but barbers DO exist! What happens is, people do not come to me."
"Exactly!" affirmed the customer.

"That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! What happens, is, people don't go to Him and do not look for Him.

That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the World."

New Mobile

I came across a nice plan from Hutch, which was giving me 600 min any mobile free calls and that too at just 249/- per month and no other charges and on top of that , all calls to landline will be charged at just 1 Re only. and a topping on that is 200 free local smses..

What else can I expect more than that..
But at the same time I was wondering, what to go with my old 5 year old connection.
I really dont feel like leaving that number, but at the same time I am sick and tired of all the unsolicited calls that I get for Credit Cards, Personal loans etc .

As of now I am planning to retain both the numbers and see how it goes..
Also bought a brand new cell yesterday [ Samsung 200 ].. It is a neat piece for just 5k.

Cleared 2nd Sem MBA Exams

Well I cant really believe it . I actually cleared the Financial Accounts subject.
Though I must confess that I had hardly studied, I knew that I had done well. All thanks to my interest in the financial markets and stock markets .

I actually many of the questions just on my general knowledge..As for economics, I had studied well[ rather better off than Financial Accounts ] but also had fared well off that day.And had actually sat at home for 3 continuous days for studying . I guess that’s what that paid off.

Anyway, I am happy that I cleared one more hurdle and all set to go ahead.
Wish me luck guys !!!!!

Views from Third party Perspective

This week, we had training for the new project that I have just joined. The trainer, Rusty Bryttan , has come over from New York, and this is the first time that he is visiting India.

Well, I am happy that whatever views that they have of India before coming here, have disappeared, while there are some facts that actually strengthen their facts.

The fact that still see cows on the roads still make them feel that India is still a place where animals roam around the cities, and the whole place is actually a jungle/forest etc. I dont really blame them, probably If Iwas in their place , would have done and felt the same.

On the other note, from their view, Brigade Road and MG Road is "Downtown". Well I guess it is high time that we start calling these places DOWNTOWN....

One Night @ the call center

http://in.rediff.com/getahead/2005/oct/28night.htm

The above link is that of an interview of Chetan Bhagat , who is the author of the above mentioned book.
I picked up the book couple of days back and yes it is worth reading this book.

To be frank, it is not as comedy as 5 point someone, but yes , it is good and teaches you many things ..
I liked the character of vroom the most..

The author's style of writing remains the same as in 5. someone... and one can easily make out that the author is CB...

I would definitely recommend everyone to read this book...
It gives what the life of folks in call center is .. I always knew that it is not at all rosy, but it is worse that I had imagined..
